Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of personalities, and a thrilling plot including angels, fiends, and sinister influences expanding in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Key plot points for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, apart from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his debts and escaped to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and best friend, desires revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- However, their status as important members in House Halovar could enable the team access places they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the rulers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- Teor is marked for death by the family.
This leaves them few options but to travel to Timmony in quest for Casimir.
