The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Your Second Season Predictions — And She Has Good News

The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been widespread.

Season 1 introduces a diverse group of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the creator stated earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how fast the new season progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for happens this season.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a couple people make a prediction grid about season 2," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on Prime Video on October 29.
